The "Wiki" in the Classroom

This fall three members of the Digitial Humanites working group will explore the learning potential of the Wiki with their students. Familiar as the interface for "Wikipedia," the wiki is a tool for collaboration that has many educational uses. The key feature is that any entry created can subsequently be modified with new information by later readers.

Prof. Gian Pagnucci will have his graduate students in Composition creating a map of the field. Prof. Sean McDaniel will use the wiki the Spanish Department, where his students will jointly construct an encyclopedia for Penninsular Spanish Civilization en espanol. Doctoral students in the Postmodern Literature class of Prof. Kenneth Sherwood will create a guide "Digital Literature" through their class wiki.

Look back for updates and links to the projects once they are underway.
